FORT WAYNE, Ind. – (November 21, 2023) – Today, the principals of Klotz Synthetic Lubricants announced two key hires to help guide the iconic lubrication brand as it continues to bolster growth and develop new product lines.
Longtime powersports sales executive Steve Goldberg has been named Western Regional Sales Director while veteran operations professional Cale Carney joins Klotz to serve as the organization’s General Manager.
Based in Fort Wayne, Ind., and founded by John C. Klotz Jr., in 1959, Klotz Synthetic Lubricants specializes in providing superior lubricants to racers, performance enthusiasts, and traditional end-users who won’t settle for anything less than the best available lubrication products on the market today.
For over 60 years, Klotz has proudly serviced the high-performance needs of the automotive, powersports, kart, marine, RC scale model, personal watercraft and snowmobile markets.
“As we continue to build out the Klotz product portfolio and ramp up production, we’re pleased to bring Steve Goldberg and Cale Carney on board to increase sales and productivity,” said Klotz Synthetic Lubricants CEO Bob Gorman. “When we announced our acquisition of Klotz in January of 2021, we knew the company was a sleeping giant. We’ve spent the last two years getting our arms around the forecasting, sales and production processes and we’re now at a point where it’s time to bring in some people who can hit the ground running. Steve is a veteran of the powersports industry and has built relationships with decision makers across west coast. Cale has a nose for operations and logistics so we’re eager to position them both for success in these newly created roles.”
Goldberg comes to Klotz from Tucker Powersports Distribution where he was tasked with managing a product portfolio that exceeded $40 million in annual sales and a 900-plus member dealer network. Prior to 2022, the California native made stops at Leatt USA, Jet Pilot, MTA Distribution and AXO America. He began his career in the powersports industry in 2008.
“I am pleased and eager to have been given the opportunity with the talented team at Klotz Synthetic Lubricants,” said Goldberg. “With 15 years of industry experience in sales and dealer management, I look forward to sharing my knowledge, growing, and expanding the powersports and marine network of dealers and distributors.”
Carney has spent the last seven years with Circle Logistics’ Fort Wayne branch where he began in carrier sales before being quickly being promoted, ultimately landing as a senior operations manager. He earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Organizational Leadership Supervision from Indiana University-Purdue University in August 2014.
“I have a strong passion for leadership and seeing companies grow to their full potential,” said Carney. “I have been successfully leading teams now for over 10 years now, most recently as an operations manager for a logistics company here in Fort Wayne. I played a key role in helping those organizations grow and reach their potential. This is an exciting opportunity to work for a company with a proud and celebrated history. I’m looking forward to playing a key role and watching Klotz thrive.”

For over 60 years, Klotz has proudly serviced the high-performance needs of the automotive, kart, marine, motorcycle, RC scale model, personal watercraft and snowmobile markets.
“Cometic Gasket is exceptionally proud to announce the acquisition of Klotz Synthetic Lubricants and to add one of the most recognizable and trusted lubricant brands in the industry to our portfolio,” said Cometic Founder and CEO Bob Gorman. “I’ve known John Klotz since I was a teenager and we’ve become far more than friends. John is one of the most genuine, passionate and caring individuals I’ve ever met, and he’s built this company from the ground up, with his own hands. Becoming the caretaker of a brand as rich in history and proud as Klotz is a humbling moment for the entire Cometic family. We’re grateful to the Klotz family for allowing us to lead this iconic company.”
Brad Kruckenberg, a powersports industry veteran who comes to Klotz from the LeMans Corporation with over 30 years of experience, will serve as president while Mr. Klotz has been named Chairman Emeritus and will continue serving in a leadership role.
Klotz will remain at its Fort Wayne headquarters, where all products are proudly engineered, formulated and packaged in its purpose-built, state-of-the-art facility.
“After sixty-plus years, it’s time to turn over the reigns,” stated Klotz. “The Gorman and Klotz families have been very close for many, many years. Bob and I have watched each other’s families grow and blossom. I think that’s a very important component of what makes this a good fit. Secondly, I’ve always been very impressed with how Cometic Gasket has grown over the years into perhaps the most reputable and nimble gasket company in the industry. They have the skills, the product knowledge and the resources to carry the Klotz name well into the future. I’m not going anywhere but it’s time to leave the heavy lifting to a team with a fresh set of eyes and great expectations. I know that Klotz is in the very best of hands.”
Kruckenberg, a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, literally climbed the corporate ladder from the very bottom rung. The Wisconsin native began his career with the LeMans Corporation in 1987 as a part-time warehouse worker and forged a path over the next 33 years to become the General Manger of Moose Racing, Moose Utility Division, Z1R helmets and apparel and Arctiva snow clothing and accessories.
“Brad Kruckenberg’s resume and loyalty speak for themselves,” said Gorman. “I’ve known Brad going all the way back to the ‘80s. His business acumen is second to none and his experience in building some of the most visible brands within the LeMans’ portfolio is very impressive. Brad’s family values and his personality go hand-in-hand with our group. We’re pleased to announce his hiring and are very confident in his ability to lead Klotz Synthetic Lubricants into the future.”
“I am very excited and thankful for my new opportunity to lead this incredible team,” explained Kruckenberg. “The Klotz name has been associated with performance, quality and customer service since 1959. Our focus is to charge into 2021 aggressively and keep building on the already solid foundation Mr. Klotz has laid before us.”

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (July 8, 2020) – As the quality of pump gasoline erodes and carbon emissions from combustion engines continue to be important topics of discussion, Klotz Synthetic Lubricants is pleased to roll out “Cleanest” Fuel System Cleaner as the legendary Indiana organization’s latest product.
“Cleanest” Fuel System Cleaner significantly dissolves carbon in the combustion chamber, intake manifold and fuel injectors, and is formulated to optimize performance in carbureted, direct injected, turbo direct injected or port fuel injected combustion gasoline engines. Klotz’s most recent offering restores fuel economy, reduces emissions and is the cleanest formula available to reestablish a vehicle’s fuel system to like-new performance.
Klotz separates itself from the competition with a product that targets not just conventional port-injected engines, but goes the extra mile to service power plants with gasoline direct injection (GDI), as well. At the same time, “Cleanest” Fuel System Cleaner has been proven consistently effective at improving performance in two-stroke applications.
Klotz “Cleanest” Fuel System Cleaner features a proprietary polyetheramine blend (PEA) - a premium fuel detergent found in the purest forms of reformulated gasoline.
“We’ve received a significant amount of in-bound communication about poor fuel quality and the ill effects on vehicle fuel delivery systems,” explained John C. Klotz, Founder and CEO of Klotz Synthetic Lubricants. “Many of those inquiries came from individuals looking to purchase Klotz’s Higher Octane Booster. That led us to identify the need to create a complete fuel system cleaner that works across several applications. Our customers are blue collar working men and women who know preventative maintenance can save hundreds or even thousands of dollars in costly vehicle repairs.
Klotz “Cleanest” Fuel System Cleaner is offered for sale by the pint or 30- and 55-gallon drums. All Klotz products are available for purchase online at www.Klotzlube.com or by calling 800.242.0489.
